MTIC Student Massage Clinic

Our supervised student massage clinic supports the collaborative evaluation of each client’s treatment needs within a therapeutic setting.

After completing 12 weeks in the certified massage therapy program, students participate in the supervised clinic to develop their hand-skill knowledge. Your student massage therapist will be skilled in full-body Swedish and joint range of motion techniques. These techniques help to relax the body and promote sound musculoskeletal alignment.

What to expect

When you first visit our clinic, we will ask you to complete a brief health history that serves as a guide for your one-hour massage treatment.

The clinic has six warm, quiet, and well-lit treatment rooms that are fully equipped with massage tables, heaters, linens, pillows, treatment oils and liniments. Soft music may be played to help you to relax and unwind.

  • Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first appointment
  • Arrive on time to ensure one full hour of massage
  • Remember to drink water after your treatment

Cost: $30 per session. Gift certificates are available.

MTIC Advanced Student Massage Clinic

Our supervised advanced massage clinic supports the integration of student knowledge and hand-skill in treatment of chronic physical pain.

After nine months of training, our advanced clinic students are skilled in Swedish, joint range of motion, myofascial release, deep tissue, neuromuscular and trigger point therapies. Your participation in advanced clinic, held in the same space as our basic clinic, requires your commitment to a series of four, two-hour, treatments that include structural evaluations of posture and gait.

What to expect

Upon completion of a detailed health history, your first of four treatment sessions begins with supervised gait analysis and orthopedic testing by your student therapist. Please bring a swimsuit or comfortable underwear to stand and move around in during this private hour-long evaluation.

Your second hour will be devoted to massage therapies that are intended to meet your specific treatment needs and relieve chronic pain.

Cost: $140 for four sessions.
