Free Application for Federal Student Aid

Federal student aid is money that comes from the federal government; the U.S. Department of Education. This money is available for those who qualify, and covers educational related expenses such as tuition, books, supplies, and lab fees.

MTIC participates in the following federal aid programs:

Federal Pell Grant – A federal program where money is given to students with the highest amount of financial need which is determined by the information provided on the FAFSA. Pell Grants do not have to be repaid.

Subsidized Direct Loan – A subsidized loan is awarded on the basis of financial need, which is determined by the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For those who qualify for a subsidized loan, the federal government pays interest on the loan (subsidizes the loan) until repayment begins and during authorized periods of deferment thereafter. Repayment begins six months after the student graduates or withdraws from the program.

Unsubsidized Direct Loan - A loan for which the student is responsible for paying the interest that accrues on the loan from the date of disbursement until the loan is paid in full, regardless of enrollment or deferment status. Repayment begins six months after the student graduates or withdraws from the program.

Direct PLUS Loan - The Direct PLUS loan helps parents and guardians with good credit borrow up to the cost of education for undergraduate children. Direct PLUS loans help supplement your other sources of financial aid, giving you the flexibility to cover 100% of your student's college expenses even if the FAFSA process has denied your student other aid. The Direct PLUS loan offers a 7.9% fixed rate, 10-25 year repayment period, and payments typically begin within 60 days after final disbursement with the option to defer payments while your student is enrolled at least half-time.

Actualize Healing Arts

"The quality of education at MTIC is exemplary in many ways. MTIC's massage certification program is one of the best and most comprehensive in the state of Colorado by far. I entered the program with very little knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and left with a whole new perspective of how our body, mind, and spirit are all connected. The massage and bodywork classes were challenging enough to keep interest, but always delivered with just the right amount of support to ensure success. My experience at MTIC was more than just educational; it was also a very exciting, positive personal journey. I highly recommend MTIC to anyone who is contemplating pursuing a career in the healing arts."
